Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Do not turn your houses into graves. Verily, Satan flees from the house in which is recited Surah Al-Baqarah."

[Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Number 1707]

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ مَقَابِرَ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنْفِرُ مِنْ الْبَيْتِ الَّذِي تُقْرَأُ فِيهِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ

صحيح مسلم كِتَاب صَلَاةِ الْمُسَافِرِينَ وَقَصْرِهَا مثل البيت الذي يذكر الله فيه والبيت الذي لا يذكر الله فيه مثل الحي والميت

Abu Mas'ud reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah in the night will be sufficed by them."

عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ قَرَأَ بِالْآيَتَيْنِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ كَفَتَاهُ

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: A man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and said, "Teach me to recite, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Recite three Surahs which begin with Alif Lam Ra." He said, "I have become old, my heart is hard and my tongue is coarse." He said, "Then recite three which begin with Ha Mim." He said likewise it was difficult. He said, "Recite three which begin with the glorification of Allah." He said likewise it was difficult, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, teach me to recite a Surah which is comprehensive and I will recite it." The Prophet recited, "When the earth will be shaken… (99:1)" until he finished it. The man said, "By Him who sent you with the truth, I will not add anything to it forever." Then the man turned away and the Prophet said twice, "The little man has succeeded."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ أَتَى رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَقْرِئْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ اقْرَأْ ثَلَاثًا مِنْ ذَوَاتِ الر فَقَالَ كَبُرَتْ سِنِّي وَاشْتَدَّ قَلْبِي وَغَلُظَ لِسَانِي قَالَ فَاقْرَأْ ثَلَاثًا مِنْ ذَوَاتِ حاميم فَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَقَالَتِهِ فَقَالَ اقْرَأْ ثَلَاثًا مِنْ الْمُسَبِّحَاتِ فَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَقَالَتِهِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَقْرِئْنِي سُورَةً جَامِعَةً فَأَقْرَأَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا زُلْزِلَتْ الْأَرْضُ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْهَا فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا أَزِيدُ عَلَيْهَا أَبَدًا ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَفْلَحَ الرُّوَيْجِلُ مَرَّتَيْنِ

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "There is a Surah in the Quran of thirty verses which will intercede for its companion until he is forgiven: Blessed is He in whose Hand is the kingdom (67:1)."

Uqbah ibn Amr Al-Juhani reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Verily, Allah has revealed verses the like of which you have never seen: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the people (114:1) and: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak (113:1)."

عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَدْ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ آيَاتٍ لَمْ يُرَ مِثْلُهُنَّ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ إِلَى آخِرِ السُّورَةِ وَ  قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ إِلَى آخِرِ السُّورَةِ

Hadith on Quran: Love for Surah Al-Ikhlas will enter people into Paradise

Anas reported: A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, verily, I love this Surah: Say: He is Allah, the One (112:1)." The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Indeed, your love for it will enter you into Paradise."

[Sunan A-Tirmidhi, Book of Vritues of Quran, Number 2901, Sahih]

عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ حُبَّكَ إِيَّاهَا يُدْخِلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ

سنن الترمذي كِتَاب فَضَائِلِ الْقُرْآنِ احشدوا فإني سأقرأ عليكم ثلث القرآن قال فحشد من حشد ثم خرج نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقرأ قل هو الله أحد

Abu Sai'id Al-Khudri reported: A man heard another man reciting: Say, He is Allah, the One (112:1) over and over, so the next morning he came to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and told him about it as if he thought it was not enough to recite. The Messenger of Allah said, "By Him in whose Hand is my soul, verily, it is equal to a third of the Quran."

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 61, Number 533]

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ  أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ يُرَدِّدُهَا فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ وَكَأَنَّ الرَّجُلَ يَتَقَالُّهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهَا لَتَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ

Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to his companions, "Is it difficult for one of you to recite a third of the Quran in a single night?" That was difficult for them, so they said, "Which one of us can do that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Allah, the One, the Master (112:1-2) is worth one-third of the Quran."

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 61, Number 534]

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ أَيَعْجِزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ فَشَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَقَالُوا أَيُّنَا يُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الصَّمَدُ ثُلُثُ الْقُرْآنِ

Abu Sa'id Al-Mu'alla reported: I was praying in the mosque when the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, called me but I did not respond. I said later, "O Messenger of Allah, I was praying." He said, "Did not Allah say: Respond to Allah and the Messenger when He calls you… (8:24)" Then he said, "I will teach you the greatest Surah in the Quran before you leave the mosque." He took hold of my hand and when he intended to leave, I said to him, "Did you not say that you would teach me the greatest Surah in the Quran?" He said, "All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds (1:1), which are the seven oft-repeated verses and the Exalted Quran which has been given to me."

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 60, Number 1]

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُعَلَّى قَالَ كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي فَدَعَانِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ أُجِبْهُ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي قَالَ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ اللَّهُ  اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ أَعْظَمَ سُورَةٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ مِنْ الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَلَمَّا أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَخْرُجَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ لَأُعَلِّمَنَّكَ أَعْظَمَ سُورَةٍ مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ هِيَ السَّبْعُ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنُ الْعَظِيمُ الَّذِي أُوتِيتُهُ

Top 10 Soft Skills for Job Hunters

Each company looks for a different mix of skills and experience depending on the business it's in. Yet it's no longer enough to be a functional expert. To complement these unique core competencies, there are certain "soft skills" every company looks for in a potential hire.
"Soft skills" refer to a cluster of personal qualities, habits, attitudes and social graces that make someone a good employee and compatible to work with. Companies value soft skills because research suggests and experience shows that they can be just as important an indicator of job performance as hard skills.

1. Strong Work Ethic
Are you motivated and dedicated to getting the job done, no matter what? Will you be conscientious and do your best work?

2. Positive Attitude
Are you optimistic and upbeat? Will you generate good energy and good will?

3. Good Communication Skills
Are you both verbally articulate and a good listener? Can you make your case and express your needs in a way that builds bridges with colleagues, customers and vendors?

4. Time Management Abilities
Do you know how to prioritize tasks and work on a number of different projects at once? Will you use your time on the job wisely?

5. Problem-Solving Skills
Are you resourceful and able to creatively solve problems that will inevitably arise? Will you take ownership of problems or leave them for someone else?

6. Acting as a Team Player
Will you work well in groups and teams? Will you be cooperative and take a leadership role when appropriate?
