Disable USB ports on Windows PC via Registry

USB port and the USB devices are  most dangerous loop wholes in computing to transfer malware in order to high jack the security barriers. This article list downs the steps you need to follow to disable your usb via registry.

1. Click on Start.
2. Click on Run. If you cannot find RUN, type it in the search box.
3. Type "regedit" without quotes. This will launch the Registry Editor.
4. Navigate to  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\usbstor.
5. In the work area, double click on Start.
6. In the Value Data box, enter 4.
7. Click on OK.
8. Close Registry Editor and refresh your desktop.
9. To re-enable access to your USB ports, enter 3 in the Value Data box in Step 6.

Note: This trick also disables access to your USB connected peripheral devices. So, do not use it if you have USB connected keyboard and mouse.

Easy ways to capture your Screen

It is always useful for us in various ways if we are equipped with different and sophisticated ways to get the screenshots of our computer screen. Let's look at in detail what are the major ways we can use to take screenshots.

1. Print Screen:

Pressing the Print Screen key in the keyboard is the very easiest way to take a screenshot with barriers. Here the image is stored in the clipboard. When you go for the second screenshot, the first one would be replaced by later one. Meanwhile, the captured image would not be saved in to any folders, but in the memory until next one replaces it. So we need another program to paste the captured image.

2. Alt + Print Screen:

This method is used when you open many windows, and it will capture only the active window but not the whole opened windows of various programs. One of the advantages is it will discard the unwanted clutters and give you the exact one. Meanwhile, the above said disadvantages remain here too.

3. Windows + Print Screen:

This is one of the very useful method where when you use the key combination of windows + Print Screen the system automatically creates a folder called "Screenshots" and save all the images one by one in to it. Note that, while you press the key combination the screen will get dim for a while.

4. Windows + H:

This key combination gives you an option to share it to online; such as email or social media depends on the program you have in the system. The option flyer will pop out from your right side of your screen.

5. Snipping Tool:

This can be fount in System Accessories. The program can be opened and define the area to capture it does it work. The captured image can be saved in various format even.

Way to extract text from an image

Hi all, 

Since it is been a long time as I interacted with you. Happy to announce you that, I would like to continue my article everyday hereafter. So you can expect more articles now onward . . .

I'm happy to introduce a good app and useful mechanism to extract texts from any image given. More than this, the specialty of this app is to extract not only English but also it extracts the Tamil language characters also. Thank god, how sweet you are ! ! !

The app is called "Google Photo" you can download from both google play (android) and app store (apple). The steps follow:

update google photo in your mobile device.

open google photo in your device

select the image where text is to be extracted

Click on the button next to trash icon

Finally click on Text selection

that's it, you can enjoy it.
